| In this tutorial I used a photograph of a wolf and cropped out all but the
eyes. This photo is compliments of El
Dorado.
Using the lasso tool in
PI, lasso the left eye and convert to object. Lasso the right eye and convert to
object. While the right eye is still active, right click and select both objects.
Right click and Merge as Single Object.
While the eyes are active,
go to Brightness and Contrast and put in 48 for both brightness and contrast. Save
this as a .ufo file.
Open up Gif Animator and
import the ufo file. In the Object Manager click on the eye object to make them active.
Set the transparency to 99.

Click on Duplicate
Frame(s). In the Object Manager, set the transparency of the eyes in Frame 2 back to
0 .
Right click on Frame 2 and
click on Tween. When the Tween Dialogue box opens, in the Frame section, make sure
Start from frame is 1, End in frame is 2. Insert frames 3. And set the delay
to 18.

In the Objects section,
the Objects to tween are the "Currently selected objects". The attributes
to tween is the "Transparency". Click OK.

Three frames have been
inserted between the start and end frame, giving you 5 frames. Preview the
animation.

We're not done as this
looks rough and unfinished. Highlight Frames 2, 3, and 4. Right click and
"Duplicate Frames". You will now have Frames 5, 6 and 7 highlighted.
Don't deselect. While they are highlighted right click again
and choose Change Frame Order/ Assign as Last Frame. Again, don't deselect
and while Frames 5, 6 and 7 are highlighted right click once again and "Reverse Frame
Order" with "Reverse the order of the Selected Frames" checked. Click
OK. Preview the animation.

A little more tweaking in
the timing will make this more appealing. Changing the timing in certain frames can
make a more dramatic effect. Change the Delay in Frame 1 to 125 and Frame 5 to 75.
Preview your animation.
If not satisfied, play
more with the timing in the frames. Once satisfied, save your animation. This
was saved using one of the Optimization Wizard's presets, Photo Art 256.

I hope you've enjoyed this
tutorial.
